This year's rebel shorts have emerged.

Across two screenings, a total of 13 "Rebels With Their Shorts" will be screened, with some of the boldest and most experimental short films from around the world.

“This year many new rebellious talents are given a chance to shine with both animation and fiction films that are the very definition of ‘in your face’,” the programmers describe.

The jury of Rebels with a Cause competition consists of Jason Wood, Executive Director of Public Programmes and Audiences at the BFI, Samuel Abrahams, a BAFTA and Webby nominated writer and director, and Mireia Vilapuig, the Catalan actress, screenwriter, creator and visual artist based in Barcelona.

The films participate in Rebels With a Cause competition programme dedicated to works that defy traditional filmmaking forms. Each participating short has the chance to win the Rebels With a Cause special short film award, selected by the members of the Rebels With A Cause Jury.
